Work-In-Process/Build-To-Stock

Work-In-Process (WIP) provides the ability to pre-build units for stock (build-to-stock or BTS). WIP automatically relieves on-hand quantities for all items pulled to build each unit, and adds to the on-hand quantity for those items that were built, giving an accurate picture of available inventory.

The inventory for BTS items is automatically committed at Order Entry. If you do not have enough BTS items to fill an order, the system allows you to either enter the unit as the normal order entry item, or allow the BTS item to go through as a backorder. The WIP Master Report and WIP Production Processing Report are generated by this module and are completely interfaced with the General Ledger.
